A case of cause or effect

From the Washington Post:

Bush Compares Iraq to Vietnam
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 22 -- President Bush defended his ongoing military commitment in Iraq by linking the conflict there to the Vietnam War, arguing Wednesday that withdrawing U.S. troops would lead to widespread death and suffering as it did in Southeast Asia three decades ago....

EXCUUUUSE ME.... It's sending troops in for a STUPID POINTLESS WAR that leads to widespread death and suffering. Yeah, just like Vietnam. That's what I said when Bush sent our troops in, to get killed. Deja vu, only sand instead of jungle.

Get our troops out and stop the insanity!

Is Bush dumber than we think?

Oy! IMPEACH the bastid. And he's still trying to make the Al Queda-Iraq-911 connection. Well, they have anti-American terrorists in Iraq now, that's for sure.

What that man has done to our country and other countries like this is tragic. I've been hearing from travelers how much people in other countries hate Bush, and hate Americans, because of him.

End of rant, for now.
Signing off.

(sigh) we need to be rid of the whole sorry lot. How far away is election day?

I honestly think if I took a break from the news, my blood pressure would improve and I'd be less depressed.

I'm with Molly Ivins on this one - Bush started this mess for his cronies. These Texas oil men rescued him from numerous business failures, and he wants to reward them with Middle Eastern oil wells. I think it's more costly than he expected, but he can rationalize it as good for the country in the long run.
Wealthy people, like him, are the only constituency he recognizes, because it's the only one he can understand. I often wonder if the poor seem a bit subhuman to him.

And Cheney? I don't think he cares.
If it gives more power to the few on top, and benefits the wealthy, it's all good.

Speaking of the cronies, I can only say that election day is too far away. (Note: Link previously posted on Jake's blog.)

Now Bush wants another $50 billion for the war in Iraq.

At least Gonzales resigned. Don't know if that will improve anything in the Justice Dept. or AG office, until Bush is out of office.
